Fake it until you make it!

Fake it until you make it.
Seriously, what was the first thing that came to your mind when you read the title? Really? Hhhmmm…
Well, sorry to disappoint you (or not), but this blog is specifically  for aspiring authors about what I consider very handy – pretending to be a published author so you’ll become one J
This blog will be the first of a series about how we can empower ourselves, how we can find inspiration, hone our craft and keep the dream alive despite setbacks.
How often do you write?
I believe this is the first order of business to jumpstart a writing career.
Published Authors write a lot, every day. What can we learn from them?
Well, setting an attainable amount is key. Maybe start writing 200-300 words a day. Do it for a couple of weeks, then write 500 words a day and take it from there.
I know what you are thinking. You have kids. You have a full time job that sucks the life out of you. You don’t have access to a computer (well, I don’t know if I believe you… you are reading this, right? Busted!). Whenever life gets too overwhelming, I think about other professions. Does a mailman stop delivering mail just because it’s raining? No (unless he’s Newman, from Seinfeld). Does a waitress quit just because of the occasional lousy tipper? No.
So if this is the occupation you want to get paid for one day, keep pushing.
Even if you agonize in front of the computer, with no inspiration whatsoever.
It will come to you :)

Hello :)

Hello, everyone!

Now that I’ve paid attention, I really wish I had a catchy blog name.

But, oh well, moving on… I’m a Cancerian, I like to go for long walks on the beach, especially if there’s a strawberry margarita waiting for me on the other side (which would make the walk back REALLY interesting). I love all things Ryan Gosling. I used to be a swimsuit model. Ha! Got your attention, didn’t I? That’s what’s so wonderful about imagination… it really takes us places.

I will be blogging about my weirdness, writing, the challenges of motherhood, and shenanigans from everyday life.

Thank you for stopping by and please come back soon. It gets better. I promise.
